LKBEN10788: Howto create an ICA file to connect on a server desktop by clicking on it

Symptom

You can use an ICA file to connect on a servers desktop. This article describes how to do this

Cause

Just practical to send somebody per mail. He/she just has to click on the file...

Solution

The ICA file has a certain syntax. This syntax can be found on the citrix website. When you just want a simple file for connecting on a server you

can use the following:

----

[WFClient]
Version=2
TcpBrowserAddress=192.168.123.100

[ApplicationServers]
yourservername=

[yourservername]
Address=192.168.123.100
InitialProgram=
TransportDriver=TCP/IP
WinStationDriver=ICA 3.0
ScreenPercent=95
DesiredColor=3

----

You can copy and paste this text and put it into a file with the ica extention. Now your local ICA Client can use it for connection to a server

system. Do not forget to change the TcpBrowserAddress= with your server ip address. Replace yourservername with your the name of the server. The =

has to be at the end of the line in first occurance. This configuration uses 95% of the screen. I like this setting because I can still see and use

my local desktop.
