LKBEN10991: Howto move a complete directory structure under linux with a command line


Symptom

You need to move a complete directory structure at once

Cause

none

Solution

You can use the mv (=move) command to do the job.

To move a directory called "ToMove" from /tmp to your home drive you can type:

mv /tmp/ToMove ~/

The the ~ stand for your home directory. (you can also write it out)
