LKBEN11627: How to create a desktop shortcut for an URL with firefox


Symptom

You need to create a shortcut to an url.

Cause

Used a lot for intranet locations.

Solution

To create a desktop shortcut with firefox, you need to click on the padlock icon on the left of the URL and drag it to the desktop or folder and drop it there. (the yellow in the screenshot)

While dragging, you will see the a shortcut icon and the URL. You can rename the icon if needed.

The Icon is a Webdocument. Here an example for the Lubby Website.
