LKBEN11628: How to create a desktop shortcut for an URL with Edge


Symptom

You need to create a shortcut to an url.

Cause

Used a lot for intranet locations.

Solution

To create a desktop shortcut with Edge, you need go to the desired URL and to click on the tree dots at the right. (see the yellow in the screenshot)

Then go to apps and click "install this site as app"

In the following windoc, click on "create a desktop link".

This will create an icon on the desktop with will open the url with ms edge.
