LKBEN11680: How to create a bootable usb stick for installing debian gnu linux.

Symptom

You need to install debian and you do not have a cdrom.

Cause

Debian installation via usb stick.

Solution

To create a bootable usb stick you can use rufus. First you need to download the debian image from the Debian website.

Here we create a bootable stick with de netinstall image. This image needs an internet connection.

The GPT partitioningschema is used for newer systems. On older systems you might need to use MBR with (BIOS) settings.

The same can be used to make an ubuntu or kubuntu install stick.

Have fun.
