LKBEN11731: How to create a ramdisk on linux?


Symptom

You need maximum IO performance.

Cause

Solution

To create a ramdisk on linux, you can use the following command:

#create a small ramdisk of 1G
sudo mount -t tmpfs -o size=1G ramdisk /mnt

Please note that all data will be lost after restarting your system!
