LKBEN11732: How can I backup and restore a MySql database?

Symptom

You need to backup your DB.

Cause

To be able to restore, you need to backup first.

Solution

To backup your database, you need to have the right credentials. When these are present, you can backup with the following command:

mysqldump -u root -p root_password > C:\backup_file_name.sql

To restore from the same file you can use:

mysql -u root -p root_password < C:\backup_file_name.sql

This can be used for MariaDB and for MySql.

Hope it helps.
