LKBEN11745: How to create a new GUID on Windows.

Symptom

You need to create a new GUID (= Globally Unique Identifier) to use in a script.

Cause

For managing UEM devices with policies you need to generate new GUIDs for every policy.

Solution

The easy way to create a new GUID is to use the powershell command new-guid. The result looks like this:

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> new-guid

Guid
----
65095913-f74d-42ef-9009-91b0df2a0d22

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Hope this helps.
