LKBEN10641: Howto find the active directory site a computer is located in
Symptom
You have created sites in active directory and want to know if the a certain computer is in a certain site
Cause
This is usefull for troubleshooting the logon of the client
Solution
You can write a little vbscript to find the site. You can also do look in active directory sites and trusts and look at the defined subnets. You than locate the IP address of the client in those subnets.
The vbscript that reads the site information looks like this:
Set objADSysInfo = CreateObject("ADSystemInfo")
WScript.Echo "Your current site name is " & objADSysInfo.SiteName
