Symptom
You get the error message Operation not permitted
Cause
none
Solution
This error may occur if you try to do something on your system what is not supported. Even the root user can get this message.
e.g. you try to set permission on a filesystem which does not have permissions
e.g. You try to create a symbolic link on a FAT32 filesystem
e.g. Trying to change ownership on a FAT filesystem
