LKBEN11600: How can I launch finder from a terminal in macOS?


Symptom

You would like to start finder from the shell.

Cause

This is by design.

Solution

To open a location in finder on your mac from the terminal (e.g. iTerm) you can use the open command. This command will open the current directory in finder.

open .

And this command will open your Applications.

open /Applications
