LKBEN11619: How to logoff a user from a Windows Terminal Server from the command line.
Symptom
You need to logoff a RDP session from a Windows server.
Cause
This is needed when the session has problems.
Solution
Before you can logoff a user, you need to know on which server the user is logged on. This can be done with the quser command.
quser /server:servername
This will show you a list of connected users and a sessionid.
To logoff the user you can now use the following command.
logoff 21 /server:TSE3
The above command will logoff session21 from the server "TSE3". The command needs a few seconds to execute. You can check the result with the quser command. For this server:
quser /server:TSE3
