LKBEN11652: How to disable Bing search in your start menu and keep the search local to your computer.

Symptom

Disable Bing search in startmenu.

Cause

Bing search can be slow.

Solution

Start menu -> regedit -> HKCU -> software - Policies -> Microsoft -> Windows ->

create a new Key and name it explorer

in this new key we create a new DWORD 32 bit value and name it:

DisableSearchBoxSuggestions and set it to 1

(need to be exactly written like this)

You need to restart your explorer which can be done via taskmanager or you can restart your pc.

There should be no more web search in your start menu from now on.

Have fun.
